Adventure Realms

Adventure Realms is a strategic board game that combines mechanics such as worker placement and deckbuilding. Players take on the role of adventurers who recruit heroes, expand their influence within guilds, and venture into dangerous dungeons to overcome challenges and gain rewards.

During the game, players can acquire powerful elemental stones. These resources are used to improve certain items and heroes, granting them advantages later in the game and potentially earning additional victory points at the end.

Another way to gain victory points and progress is by completing quests. These tasks place specific demands on the players and their heroes. Should the players find themselves in a difficult situation in the deeper levels of the dungeons, they can use magical cards from their deck to influence the course of the game and potentially gain control of the situation.

Adventure Realms is distinguished by its 16-bit graphics, which are an homage to classic video games. The game design comes from Peter Jank, who was also responsible for Quest for the Lost Pixel.

During their turn, players play one of their hero cards and choose a hero space on the game board. These spaces grant players specific rewards. Additionally, the played hero card provides players with resources or special abilities that they can use during their current turn.

A special incentive is that the player whose adventurer has progressed furthest into the dungeon receives a special first-player reward. The game ends as soon as one player reaches a total of 10 victory points.
