DOOM PILGRIM

Doom Pilgrim is a solo roguelike adventure in the form of 90 large cards with images on the front and text all over the back.

You are a fallen hero fighting your way through your miserable fate in a dark medieval open world full of deadly dangers and cruelty.

gameplay

In each round, you draw 3 cards that represent your future. From the three cards, you choose, based only on the pictures, a path you reject, a path for the future, and a path you take. The path you choose is then revealed - you turn the card over, read the story, make decisions according to the text, and note any changes, losses, or gains on the character sheet.

This is how your destiny as a medieval pilgrim hero develops and you try to survive the entire journey until the end of the deck of cards, the "Future" deck. There are fights, NPCs, equipment and much more... just like in a gamebook (a very grim and dark one, full of strange encounters), but there is no rolling of dice, everything depends on your choices and the path you took before. The next time you play, you might remember which picture hides which type of event or fight, allowing you to choose your path more wisely depending on your current equipment and fitness. But in the dark corners of this corrupt, godforsaken world, deadly dangers always lurk, eager to plunge you into ruin!
