Gate is a solo tower defense game in which you act as the leader of a besieged medieval city.

Your task is to protect the city gate, the tower, and the farm while keeping the citizens' fear in check. Failure means game over, but if you repel the enemies, you achieve victory.

The game is based on deck-building; you start with three cards and can recruit more townspeople with unique abilities as the game progresses. As enemy waves increase in difficulty, you must strategically decide how to use your resources.

The separately available expansion Gates brings a lot of new content, including new citizens to recruit, enemies to fight, heroes to help protect the gate, new locations to defend, barricades to build, and ZOGAR!!!

The Gates playmat can also be used for the base game.

A smaller playmat for Gate only is also available.
