In this trick-taking game, it is not always desirable to win a trick, as each card has a "science" side (+) and a "madness" side (-) that could jeopardize the balance of the players' point piles.
The winners of a trick add an opponent's card to one of their matching scoring piles – two of which are unbalanced from the start – with the goal of reducing each suit to 0. The lowest total score wins.
