In Mindbug , you summon hybrid creatures and send them into battle against your opponent – but when you summon a creature, your opponent can use one of their Mindbugs to take control of it. Outsmart your opponent in a fascinating tactical duel where having the best cards and playing them at the wrong time can be deadly.

The cards in Mindbug depict strange creatures, each with unique and powerful abilities, such as a compost dragon, a slug hydra, or a kangasaurus rex. You begin the game with ten creature cards (five in your hand and five in the draw pile) and try to reduce your opponent's life total to zero. You also receive two Mindbug cards, which allow you to mentally control an opponent's creature when it is played. This innovative Mindbug mechanism is the heart of the game and leads to a unique decision-making process that sets Mindbug apart from all other card games.

Playing a card in Mindbug requires no resources. Therefore, there's no setup phase (like gathering resources), and no weak cards are needed. Since there's no deckbuilding, you can start playing immediately with a single deck. There's also no unfair advantage, as all players draw cards from the same deck and always have the chance to control their opponent's strongest cards. Ultimately, it comes down to your own decisions, making the game extremely fair yet competitive.
