Story Tichu is based on a traditional card game discovered by Swiss author Urs Hostettler on one of his travels. From there, it began its triumphant march through all German-speaking parts of Europe and has since spread worldwide. Championships have been held regularly since 1993. The game owes some of its characteristic peculiarities to its Far Eastern origin: The direction of play is counter-clockwise, and the cards are not dealt; instead, each player draws the top card from the deck in turn until all cards are in the players' hands. For avid Tichu fans, observing these special features is a matter of course.

What is it about? The card deck consists of 52 colored cards and four special cards with unique abilities. Tichu is a game for four people who divide into two fixed teams of two. The goal is to be the first to discard all your cards. Before the first turn, each player secretly exchanges one card with each other player. Play begins with the player to the right of the dealer: They play a single card or a valid card combination, e.g., a pair or a straight, onto the table. The other players can beat this lead with a similar but higher-value combination or pass. Unlike classic trick-taking games like Skat, a trick does not end after one round but only when no one can or wants to outbid. A player can thus have multiple turns in one trick. As soon as only one player holds cards, the round ends. Both teams tally the value of their won tricks; a total of 100 points are in play. The game is usually played to 1,000 points.

This edition comes in a robust, compact metal tin and is ideal for on the go!
