You are a sorcerer's apprentice who has been tasked by the king with destroying the demon lord and thus saving the princess. In this card-based solo game, you move across the board, fight enemy minions, and collect new magic and traveling companions to aid you along the way.
The game consists of 32 cards. You move your wizard around the game board and pay life points to cross terrain. Certain terrain points are combat points where you fight enemy minions. You use your hand cards to generate magic by fulfilling certain magic patterns, and your traveling companions can also use abilities. If you defeat the evil minions, you receive additional cards that may contain magic or traveling companions. If you defeat the Demon King at the end of the game board, you win!
