USURPER

USURPER is a fast, tactically demanding card-drafting and grid-laying game for 1 to 2 players. In this dark fantasy world, you recruit followers from four distinct factions of the realm and unite them to defeat your adversary and secure the throne.

Gameplay

A game of USURPER lasts approximately 15 to 20 minutes and proceeds through three simple phases.

In the Drafting Phase, players take turns selecting followers from the recruitment row to assemble a hand of 9 cards, always with their secret bonus scoring card in mind.

In the Placement Phase, players take turns placing their followers onto their own 3x3 grid, triggering immediate card effects and trying to make the placement as valuable as possible.

In the Scoring Phase, each player scores their 3x3 grid: basic card values, special abilities, and the secret bonus scoring card all contribute to the final score.

The player with the most victory points at the end of the Scoring Phase successfully secures the throne and henceforth bears the title of USURPER.
